The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends listening to music as one of the top de-stressors for college students. According to the UMD Medical Center (https://www.fnu.edu/benefits-studying-music/), “Music is an effective stress reducer in both healthy individuals and people with health problems. Research finds that listening to soothing music can decrease blood pressure, heart rate, and anxiety levels in heart patients” (UMD Medical Center). It has been proven through numerous experiments that upbeat music, or music in general, is one of the best ways to study because it produces Serotonin and Dopamine which will improve your mood and in turn will improve your ability to retain information.
