Sunergos: A Big Hit at Bellarmine

Many college students’ favorite drink is coffee.

Bellarmine students definitely have access to their choice of coffee. There are several spots on campus to get coffee such as Einstein’s and Katie’s Café.

There are also several nearby off-campus spots that sell coffee, including national chains Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks and Heine Brothers. There are also several local coffee shops that have a unique twist. One of these spots is Sunergos Coffee, which is only two blocks from campus on Norris Place.

This local spot has become a very common place for Bellarmine students to visit because of its variety of blends. Sunergos has a very broad selection of coffee options as well as small food snacks.

Sunergos is a friendly spot where students often go to work and have professional meetings. Graduate student Brody Lowry said: “I like Sunergos because of the home-like environment it provides. A lot of coffee shops go for the modernistic aesthetic, but Sunergos aims to make you feel welcomed like family.”

Another Sunergos fan is senior Cameron Herbert. He said he often relies on Sunergos for energy before class. “I love Sunergos because of its perfect location. I can grab coffee walking to class. They have the best blend in Louisville in my opinion,” he said.

Bellarmine senior Patrick O’Neil is another frequent visitor of Sunergos. He said, “I am not a huge coffee person, but I do like Sunergos. I used to get schoolwork done there without getting coffee, but recently found that I enjoy their cold brew,” he said.

Sunergos has a variety of drink options with a hot and cold offerings menu. It has coffee, tea and smoothie options. Drinks range from $2 to about $6. The location closest to Bellarmine is open Monday through Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
