Bellarmine Student Government Association held a budget meeting on March 24 with representatives considering three proposals.
First-year SGA Representative Liam Leake who volunteers at the Office of Health Services requested $2,836.30 for T-shirts, new tablecloth and promotional items for first-year students during Week of Welcome next year.
The group will have a table to pass out shirts and inform students about all the health services Bellarmine offers.
“Having these promotional items is very important because we want to bring excitement to Health Services while informing first-year students of all the different ways Health Services can help them. We also want to have enough shirts for all the students and take the first step into them getting involved,” Leake said.
SGA representatives voted unanimously to fund this request.

Vice President of Finance Tommy Pack presented the Bellarmine Activities Council’s bingo bill. This was a motion to allocate $1,500 to host one more Late-Knight Bingo with prizes.
“The BAC wants to put on one more Late-Knight Bingo for Bellarmine students and needs the funds to be able to have prizes. This is a great opportunity to connect one last time with Bellarmine students and win unique items,” Pack said. “There are always prizes students can win”.
This event will take place April 26, the same day as Late-Knight Breakfast. Students will be able to attend bingo then walk over to the breakfast after the games end. The time and location are to be decided.
SGA representatives agreed to unanimously fund this request.
Bellarmine freshman Callie Clark presented the Health Humanities Bill. This was a motion to create a charted club for Health Humanity majors at Bellarmine.
The new Registered Student Organization would support and grow students within this major. Also, the club would educate students and faculty on public issues.
“Are any students currently interested in forming this club?” SGA President Haley Planicka asked.
Clark said: “Yes, we already have 12 students interested and plan on promoting it more through social media. Creating this club will help students be supported and stay involved on current issues within the community.”
SGA representatives agreed to unanimously accept this request to create a club for Health Humanities.
