Experience Bellarmine Over Summer

Louisville Offers Fun Summer Events

As the school year comes to an end, students can still experience a taste of Bellarmine through Louisville and the events held throughout the summer.

Baseball fanatics can enjoy Bellarmine’s baseball team, which plays through May 21, and the Louisville Bats have a heavy home schedule in the month of June with specials including $1 menu night, wine slushy Wednesdays, Friday family packs and Saturday fireworks. The Bats games are a great way to hang out with friends, as the tickets are cheap, and games are frequent. Tickets for games are as little as $6.

Lynn Family Stadium is set to hold several events as well. The stadium is home to LouCity men’s soccer team and Racing Louisville women’s soccer team. As a soccer crazed-city, Louisville has both teams playing on a weekly schedule. Tickets for the men’s game start at $17, and tickets to women’s games start at $8. The stadium will also hold a concert May 7, which is the 85 West Festival featuring Janet Jackson and New Edition. Tickets start at $94. The Women’s Cup will be held there on August 14.

The KFC Yum! Center is set to hold a number of events, ranging from concerts to food tasting events. Taste of Derby returns May 5 and will be open to the public from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will feature regional dishes and created by Louisville’s nationally renowned chiefs and paired with different assortments of wine. The fundraiser brings in more than $150,000 annually to food banks in the surrounding areas. Tickets for the charity event are $325. Some of the other major events include concerts, including Kid Rock, who will be performing May 20; Kentucky R&B Fest with Keith Sweat and Friends on June 3; and Bert Kreicher’s comedy tour, which will be in town June 17. Louisville is home to many great parks and fabulous walking trails as well. Going to a park is a fun and frugal way to get out of the house with friends and enjoy the summer air. The parks create a great way to exercise and stay in shape. This is a list of the parks and trails. https://louisvilleky.gov/government/parks
