Behind the Scenes: Bellarmine Theatre's Upcoming Production of "The Wolves"

By Lindsay Smith

Bellarmine’s Theatre Department, alongside Alpha Psi Omega, is set to debut its latest production titled The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe.

The Wolves will take the field for opening night on Friday, January 26th at 7 p.m., followed by performances on Saturday, January 27th 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, January 28th at 2 p.m. in Wyatt Hall.

The play centers on a high school women’s soccer team as it explores the joys and struggles that come with being a teenager.

Freshman Jordan Warfield prepares for a scene.

“It bridges the gap, I think, between athletics, teenagers and the theatre,” director Holly Kissel said.

Even for those who are not typical theatre goers themselves, this play has something for everyone to enjoy.

“I feel like there’s a perception of the arts and theatre being quite hoity-toity, and you’re going to come and watch a bunch of people talk about intellectual matters, and you might sleep a little bit,” said Kissel, “but with this, there’s no chance of that.”

Junior cast member Katie Feduccia agrees, “You’re never really going to be bored in it because somethings always happening, something crazy is always going down, someone’s always cracking a joke or saying something a little odd."

Tickets are $7 for students and seniors, $10 for general admission and $7 for groups of five or more.
